We are searching for Research Engineer and Data Analyst CoOps with a passion for tackling climate change. With the company being just two years old, they will get an unparalleled look at the early days of a startup and contribute to bringing the technology from concept to proof point. Co-ops will have the opportunity to work on a critical development of the electrolyzer technology including topics like material development, electrochemical understanding, system reliability, vendor evaluation, and more. The focus of the co-op will depend on the applicant's interests and company's research priorities.
You will be based in Natick, MA and report into the Lead R+D Engineer.
Roles and Responsibilities
Co-ops will assist in the processing, analysis, and visualization of large-scale electrolysis test data, meaningfully informing and guiding the development of our electrolyzer technology.
Co-ops will work closely with cell test engineers and data scientists throughout the co-op. Day-to-day tasks may include:
- Writing Python scripts to analyze time-series and discrete data
- Creating data visualizations using SQL and Grafana
- Incorporating new processing methods and metrics into the production codebase
- Becoming familiar with the test infrastructure and instruments
- Teaching engineers how to use the data tools the co-op created
- Summarizing and presenting findings
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Basic understanding and application of business and finance related concepts
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's Degree program studying Business or related field
Compensation and Benefits
- All students will have the opportunity to develop communication skills, gain laboratory experience and benefit from a valuable experience within a start-up culture while learning about the energy industry.
- $1,500 transportation stipend will be provided or $3,000 relocation stipend (depending on location)

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
