We are looking for an Electrician to support our R&D, Manufacturing and Facilities organizations. This position will be based onsite supporting our operations in San Jose, California with the opportunity to travel for work to our facilities in Massachusetts as well as our product deployments around the world. You will be expected to share the on-call rotation for emergency response work and be available for possible evening, weekend and holiday work.
The person in this role will be reporting through our Integration and Validation team ultimately to the SVP of Engineering.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Electric Hydrogen Engineering, Facilities and EH&S teams on the implementation of new electrical system installations, sustainability initiatives, facilities alterations, maintenance, repairs and similar
• Play a key role in the installation and startup of cutting-edge manufacturing and R&D equipment, bringing new technology online and ensuring a smooth turnover to operations
• Diagnose and resolve electrical failures, and perform necessary repairs to ensure system functionality
• Support the ongoing implementation and compliance of the electrical lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) program for critical equipment and systems
• Install and modify circuitry in accordance with applicable local building and electrical code guidelines
• Troubleshoot and repair base building, process, and specialty equipment to ensure optimized system performance
• Conduct root cause analysis for underperforming critical systems and failed components to identify and address underlying issues
• Create as-built drawings and partner with the Facilities Electrical Engineer for upkeep of the facility record drawings
• Replacement of lighting lamps and/or ballasts, receptacles, fuses, etc.
• Must occasionally pick-up items at local supply houses/specialty vendors
• Maintain electrician licensure in our jurisdictions, including any required continuous training
• Maintain valid State Driver’s License
• Must be physically capable of climbing ladders, using material handling equipment, operating forklifts, and operating working aerial platforms
Basic Qualifications:
• Certified electrician in the State of California
• Experience with modern electrical systems used in R&D and manufacturing environments, including high-tech equipment and complex circuitry
• Strong background in general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management
• Extensive familiarity with local and state electrical codes and regulations including, but not limited to, NEC, UL and safety regulations specific to hydrogen process systems, R&D and manufacturing applications
• Hands-on experience and working knowledge of NFPA-70, NFPA-70B and NFPA-70E
• Practical knowledge of health and safety standards and industry codes (OSHA, EPA, DEP, ADA) and other environmental regulations
• Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic tools
• Experience with base building systems including, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, as well as relevant codes
• Ability to operate with minimal supervision, adhering to broad guidelines and technical standards while consistently meeting or surpassing critical targets
• Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Licensed electrician in the State of California
• Certified or Licensed electrician in the State of Massachusetts
• Proficiency operating PC applications, including knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and scheduling programs such as MS Office, Smartsheet, Jira, Monday and similar
• Experience with CMMS software such as UpKeep, Maximo, 360, etc.
• Experience working with C1D2 classified areas

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
