About the Role
At Vaulted, we have an aggressive plan to rapidly grow our team and subsequent climate impact. As the Head of Finance, you will be primarily responsible for securing and structuring the finance needed for new sites, while shepherding the Vaulted’s overall financial strategy to align with our overarching business objectives and growth plans. Responsibilities include:
- Transactional Finance: Vaulted’s subject matter expert on project finance transactional activities, including capital raising efforts, with a particular focus on project finance, debt structuring, and infrastructure funding for large-scale physical assets
- Financial Planning: Lead all financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking and identify continuous improvement opportunities through analysis of finance processes, recommend and lead implementation of improvements
- Financial Modeling: Oversee building and maintenance of financial models to evaluate project economics, risk, and ROI and provide recommendations based on analysis of project inputs
- Leadership: Build and manage a high-performing finance team as the company scales and oversee the accounting function led by the Controller
What You Will Bring
To succeed in this role, and to help the company to succeed in our mission, the Head of Finance must possess a strong grasp of structured finance and blended capital stacks, a desire to push the boundaries of financing for CDR projects, and a "do well and do good" mindset. They must also thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with a growing team of ever-changing needs. In addition, we seek a candidate with:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field, MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred
- 8+ years of relevant working experience
- Minimum of 3 years leading a team
- Proven experience structuring and raising debt and hybrid capital for capital-intensive infrastructure or industrial projects. Open to considering candidates with Private Equity or other related investing backgrounds
- Strong background in FP&A, accounting, and financial operations, preferably in an early-stage environment
- Super user proficiency in Microsoft Excel; comfort working with project complex models
- Proven ability to lead and develop a high performance, highly engaged team
- Demonstrated ability and to tackle challenging problems with quantitative methods
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to operate hands-on in a lean team
- Passion for and commitment to sustainability and the work of climate change mitigation. Knowledge of carbon removal is helpful, but not necessary
