With a growing team of 50 people across the country, Vaulted signed a $58.3 million offtake agreement with Frontier, and completed a $32 million Series A round in 2024. Vaulted's proprietary technology builds on decades of expertise to deliver safe, durable carbon and waste management solutions, now, at scale.
About the Role
At Vaulted, we have an aggressive plan to rapidly grow our team and subsequent climate impact. As the Community Engagement Lead, you will be responsible for managing community outreach and relationships across local stakeholder groups at Vaulted’s current and prospective operating sites. Responsibilities include:
- Strategically manage community engagement, local government relations, and public affairs for new and existing Vaulted Deep facilities and well sites
- Lead introductions of Vaulted Deep to local community members and groups; internal advisory on local events to attend, individuals to meet, and messaging
- Identify and build partnerships with local workforce development groups, rural health organizations, conservation/preservation groups, and other groups or individuals that could become long-term partners and advocates for Vaulted Deep
- Represent Vaulted Deep at local events such as Chamber of Commerce meetings, municipal events, fairs and festivals, professional development events, and more
- Assist with planning and advertisement of public community outreach meetings (estimated 2x a year)
What You Will Bring
To succeed in this role, and to help the company to succeed in our mission, the Community Engagement Lead must possess strong communication, time management, and community engagement skills. They must also thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with a growing team of ever-changing needs. In addition, we seek a candidate with:
- A bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, advertising, or a related degree
- Ideally, direct experience conducting community engagement for industrial projects and some knowledge of energy policy or direct experience conducting community engagement for a political campaign
- An ability to handle high stress triage and prioritization of project tasks
- An ability to partner with and communicate key information to senior leadership, included C-suite
- An ability to hire and manage teams of consultants across multiple geographies
- In-depth knowledge of local issues, challenges, and priorities at our current and prospective operating sites
- Must be comfortable with public speaking and outbound relationship building with new stakeholders and individuals
- Familiarity with local government and politics at our current and prospective operating sites
- Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate across various groups of internal and external stakeholders
- Passion for and commitment to sustainability and the work of climate change mitigation. Knowledge of carbon removal is helpful, but not necessary.
