We work alongside project developers, owners, and engineering & construction firms to support the design, optimization, and construction of huge solar projects around the world. We are based in Northern California, with several other offices in the United States and around the world.

The Role

Do you enjoy solving interesting engineering problems that no one has solved before by using your knowledge, experience, and creativity to design, build, and test solutions? Terabase’s Devops/IT/Network Engineer is a member of the software Platform and Applications team, reporting to the leader of the software Platform and Applications team. The engineer will also coordinate closely with the Autonomy team and be primarily assigned to work with that team. This role will play a crucial part in integrating vehicle autonomy systems into the Terabase software platform, as well as contributed to other parallel but related software and IoT product development activities. The position is hybrid, with the ratio of in-person to remote work determined through the interview process in collaboration with the VP of Software, the Autonomy Team leader, and the Platform and Applications team leader. Ratio of in-person to remote work will certainly be more in-person than remote. The in-person location for this role is our Davis California R&D Facility.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with software Platform and Applications team leader to plan and execute key Terabase software team activities

  • Collaborate with the Autonomy team to integrate and support vehicle autonomy systems deployment, testing, and integrations

  • Deploy embedded code using Docker and related technologies

  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines

  • Utilize Gitflow version control for efficient code management

  • Conduct thorough testing to ensure system robustness.

  • Work effectively with distributed teams to achieve project goals.

  • Communicate with and support users of deployed software, controls, and systems

  • Develop quality control plans and unit testing approaches for your code and work product

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate vehicle autonomy systems

  • Ensure robust CI/CD pipelines and adhere to Gitflow version control practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven experience in DevOps and IT/Networking roles

  • Proficiency with Docker for embedded code deployment

  • Knowledge of AWS for cloud infrastructure

  • Experience with robust embedded systems

  • Knowledge of modern network systems, including software-defined network design and management

  • Expertise in CI/CD processes

  • Familiarity with Gitflow version control

  • Solid testing skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with distributed teams

  • Solid understanding of agile workflow management process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with distributed autonomous and/or robotic systems

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent

  • Experience using Unix-like command line interfaces such as bash
