Maintenance Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support a chemical manufacturing facility by improving equipment reliability, managing capital projects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role will be responsible for maintaining production equipment performance, reducing downtime, and supporting plant safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital maintenance and process improvement projects ($2M–$10M annually).
• Investigate equipment failures and perform root cause analysis.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Maintain equipment records, BOMs, and maintenance documentation within CMMS.
• Identify and implement equipment reliability and process improvements.
• Troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes.
• Participate in PSM activities, including PHAs and MOCs.
• Support equipment specification, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Oversee contractors and ensure projects are completed safely and effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in chemical, petrochemical, or process manufacturing.
• Experience managing capital projects and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Knowledge of PSM-regulated environments and maintenance best practices.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems; SAP experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• PE license preferred.
