Aegis is partnered with an employee-owned industrial automation and process controls organization that has been supporting customers across the Midwest for more than 80 years. This company specializes in advanced automation systems, OT infrastructure, industrial networking, virtualization, and process control solutions for some of the most complex manufacturing and process environments in the region. They continue to grow due to strong customer demand and offer employees the opportunity to work on large-scale industrial automation projects while participating in an ESOP ownership program.

They are seeking an Operational Technology (OT) Engineer to support industrial automation customers through OT infrastructure projects, virtualization initiatives, industrial networking, cybersecurity, system migrations, and ongoing technical support.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, support, and maintain OT infrastructure within industrial automation environments
  • Configure and support virtualized environments utilizing VMware ESXi, vCenter, and Hyper-V
  • Support hardware upgrades, migrations, and system modernization projects
  • Configure and troubleshoot industrial networks and communication protocols
  • Support DCS and control system environments through upgrades and infrastructure projects
  • Assist with OT cybersecurity initiatives, backups, recovery systems, and system hardening
  • Provide remote and onsite technical support to customers
  • Participate in commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities at customer facilities
  • Work closely with systems engineering and field service teams on customer projects
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor for customers and project teams

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on OT Engineering, Controls Engineering, or Industrial Infrastructure experience
  • Experience supporting virtualized OT environments utilizing VMware or Hyper-V
  • Industrial networking experience within manufacturing or process automation environments
  • Experience supporting control systems, DCS platforms, or industrial automation systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer-facing communication skills
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field
  • Ability to travel approximately 30–40% as projects require

Preferred Experience:

  • DeltaV or other DCS platform exposure
  • Industrial cybersecurity experience
  • Field Service Engineering background
  • Windows Server and Active Directory experience
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, chemical, refining, power, or process industries
