Aegis is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer to join our client's organization in Chicago. (60629) The ideal candidate has the following skills and experience:

Must Haves:

• Minimum 4 years of design engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software and AutoCAD.
• Strong mechanical design skills including 3D modeling, detailed drawings, and assemblies to ANSI standards.
• Hands-on experience comfortable working at heights (up to 20ft), taking field measurements, using scissor lifts.
• Ability to pass a physical, drug test (9-panel, non-marijuana), and background check.
• Comfortable working with desk/office on the plant floor.

Plus Haves:

• Design experience for food manufacturing plant equipment.
• Conveyor and material handling design experience.
• Knowledge of packaging machinery (wrapping, vertical bagging, weighing, robotic equipment). Knowledge of process/plant equipment (extruders, pumps, heat exchangers, low pressure boiler systems).
• Familiarity with food processing GMP practices.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA requirements for industrial applications.
• Experience coordinating with food OEM partners.
