Position Summary:

Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a manufacturer in the Lafayette, IN area who is seeking a Cost Accountant who will ensure the costs of the company’s products and services are assigned in line with internal policies and follow established financial accounting standards.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Accounting experience within a manufacturing environment

Job Responsibilities:

• Evaluate changes in product design, materials, manufacturing processes, or services to assess customer and product margins.
• Review actual manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production, using key cost drivers and metrics.
• Maintain and record cost data to support expense control.
• Analyze and reconcile the COGS ledger to ensure accurate month-end close.
• Conduct variance analysis, identify issues or opportunities, and communicate findings to operations management.
• Establish and maintain policies and procedures for cost accounting activities.
• Lead, coordinate, and oversee all cost accounting activities.
• Manage daily operations of the cost accounting function, including rate management, inventory, and monthly COGS close and analysis.
• Supervise ERP integrations, migrations, and system upgrades.
• Guide and coordinate the collection of standard cost rates.
• Oversee inventory forecasting and manage monthly and annual physical stock counts.
• Analyze and communicate the impact of rate changes on inventory.
