We’re partnered with a growing pharmaceutical company in the Carmel area looking to add a Senior Microbiologist to their Quality Control team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, regulated environment and wants to play a key role in ensuring product quality and compliance.
This position offers strong visibility, the opportunity to mentor others, and the ability to take ownership of microbiology-related processes and improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform microbiological testing including sterility, endotoxin, and bioburden on products, materials, and environmental samples
- Support environmental monitoring (EM) programs, including data trending and reporting
- Author, review, and update SOPs and related documentation
- Investigate OOS results, support root cause analysis, and implement CAPAs
- Train and mentor junior team members on aseptic techniques and microbiology practices
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, and other departments
- Assist with validation and qualification activities, including biological indicator work
- Maintain compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field
- 5+ years of microbiology experience in a cGMP/FDA-regulated environment
- Hands-on experience with aseptic techniques and microbiological testing methods
- Strong understanding of environmental monitoring programs
- Experience with investigations, data analysis, and technical writing
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
