Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Product Engineer to support and enhance our existing product offerings. This role focuses on continuous improvement initiatives—reducing cost, minimizing waste, and improving production efficiency—while also managing customer orders from intake through production release. The ideal candidate bridges engineering, operations, and customer needs to ensure high-quality, efficient product delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Product Improvement & Optimization

  • Analyze existing products and processes to identify opportunities for:
  • Cost reduction
  • Waste reduction
  • Decreased production time
  • Improved manufacturability and quality
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to implement design or process improvements
  • Evaluate materials, components, and methods to optimize performance and cost

Order Management & Engineering Execution

  • Review and process customer orders, ensuring technical accuracy and feasibility
  • Create and modify 3D models, drawings, and specifications as required
  • Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Translate customer requirements into production-ready documentation
  • Release completed orders and documentation to the production floor

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders to resolve design, material, or scheduling issues
  • Support production teams by troubleshooting engineering-related challenges
  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field)
  • 2+ years of experience in product engineering, manufacturing, or a related role (preferred)
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Experience creating and managing BOMs
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
