Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift

Compensation: Salary starts at $86,000+

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead our night shift maintenance team within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a solid technical background in industrial maintenance and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop maintenance technicians on 12-hour night shift
  • Plan, prioritize, and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-related issues
  • Ensure maximum uptime and efficiency of production equipment
  • Coordinate with production leadership to support operational goals
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, GMP, SQF, and food safety standards
  • Manage work orders, PM schedules, and maintenance documentation within CMMS
  • Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment
  • Monitor parts inventory and collaborate with purchasing to maintain critical spares
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability and cost reduction
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all company safety policies

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred)
  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems (480V), PLC troubleshooting, motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, and packaging equipment
  • Experience with preventative maintenance systems and CMMS
  • Working knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work a 12-hour night shift on a consistent basis
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field
  • Experience in high-speed food production or packaging environments
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
