Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment in accordance with all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Verify that guards and safety devices are properly installed and functioning before releasing equipment back to operations.
- Monitor parts and supply inventory levels; request replacements and confirm receipt as needed.
- Utilize maintenance management systems to document inspections, repairs, and equipment status.
- Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics, and technical drawings to diagnose and repair machinery.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and quality-related issues; escalate concerns when appropriate.
- Perform emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment changeovers.
- Identify and report safety, quality, or operational concerns that cannot be resolved independently.
- Inspect machinery in operation and use precision tools to diagnose issues.
- Fabricate or modify repair components using appropriate shop equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Operate powered industrial vehicles and lifting equipment as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
- Comply with OSHA regulations and all company safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Technical training, apprenticeship, military experience, or equivalent mechanical/electrical background preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical systems and PLC troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills and basic math proficiency.
- Ability to pass job-related testing, physical examination, and drug screening.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, and perform repetitive motions as required.
- Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
