Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join our clients growing team in Dayton, Ohio. This role supports a small, high-precision machine shop serving major aerospace OEM customers. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in CNC programming, strong hands-on machining knowledge, and the ability to collaborate closely with shop floor personnel to optimize processes, quality, and efficiency.

This is an on-site position. Candidates must be local to the Cincinnati area. No relocation assistance is available. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship now or in the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, program, and optimize multi-axis CNC machining processes using Siemens NX (NX CAM)
  • Create and edit CNC programs for Fanuc and/or Okuma controls
  • Collaborate with machinists, quality, and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and efficiency
  • Support new product introductions from prototype through production
  • Improve cycle times, tooling strategies, and machining processes
  • Troubleshoot CNC programs and machining issues on the shop floor
  • Interpret complex aerospace drawings, GD&T, and specifications
  • Assist in tooling selection, fixture design input, and process documentation
  • Maintain strict adherence to aerospace quality standards and customer requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of CNC programming experience in a precision machining environment
  • Extensive experience programming with Siemens NX (NX CAM)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Fanuc and/or Okuma CNC controls
  • Background in aerospace machining preferred
  • Deep understanding of multi-axis machining (3, 4, and 5-axis)
  • Proficiency interpreting GD&T and complex aerospace drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting and process optimization skills
  • Ability to work independently in a small-shop, team-oriented environment
  • Must be local to the Dayton, Ohio area
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
