Do you want to learn about and work on this critical part of the future energy economy? We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support our Cell Development team, working directly with two recent Northeastern alumni! As a team member, you will have an opportunity help us identify and mitigate performance-limiting defect modes in our solid-state separator to further improve our product performance and reliability.

What you will do
• Coordinate with a team of technicians to build and electrically test battery cells made with ceramic solid-state separators.
• Analyze battery test data, organize and communicate findings to the larger team, and suggest new pathways for development.
• Perform failure analysis of cells that show poor performance. Identify top failures modes and summarize on a weekly cadence.
• Analyze images of failed cell components and inspect for evidence of cell defects. Submit samples for physical analysis to root-cause the defect modes.
Requirements
• Working towards a BS degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science (or equivalent)
• Prior experience with electrical testing, scientific data acquisition, and analysis is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and openly with a strong affinity for teamwork. Our team is very collaborative and works closely together!
• Dedication to workplace safety in a manufacturing and R&D setting.
• Proficiency in MS office suite, and willingness to learn additional specialized programs. Some python experience is preferred.

• QuantumScape is near plenty of public transit, allowing for easy transportation throughout San Jose and to the greater Bay Area!
• Co-ops will be expected to work onsite as daily lab work is a critical component of our project.

QuantumScape offers a competitive rate commensurate with experience and background, a comprehensive benefits package, and an excellent opportunity for growth. Base hourly rate will be $32-33 per hour
