We are looking for an experienced software engineer who can enable our data pipeline engineering and infrastructure as we move towards building a solid-state battery. The candidate would bring valuable insight into our most difficult data ingestion, ETL and data access challenges, work within our organization to understand stakeholder needs and deliver solutions that are scalable and robust.

You will assist our efforts to support a growing data ecosystem built on a number of technologies including Prefect, Kubernetes, Github Actions (CI/CD) and BigQuery. Architect and automate the deployment of data pipelines, working closely with Software and DevOps teammates to provide a robust solution for serving internal customer requests around new data products. We embrace the latest technologies, and empower our team members to push the boundaries of what is possible.

Responsibilities:

• Support existing data ingestion routines that feed our most critical data into BigQuery

• Collaborate with scientists to design data products (ETL automation/data access) which will provide insight into ongoing improvements in our technology

• Design and implement data pipelines that prioritize reliability, flexibility and scalability using the latest cloud native tools available

• Maintain client libraries and integrations to common internal data access and visualization tools

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree & 5+ years or a Master's degree & 3 years of proven experience as a software engineer working in the area of data engineering.

• Familiarity with data manipulation and scripting using Python Data Science stack (NumPy/Pandas)

• Experience working with a Data Warehouse (BigQuery preferred)

• Simple understanding of Relational Databases and SQL scripting

• Experience with NoSQL databases with an understanding of concepts and benefits

• Working knowledge of gRPC/Protocol Buffers for interacting with backend APIs (Preferred)

• Strong communicator that is self-driven and willing to adapt quickly to the changing landscape of cloud

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role has a range of $135,900 to $207,200, and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
