Engineering technicians at Lunar Energy support the day-to-day execution of engineering operations for our home energy products. We're looking for someone hands-on, detail-oriented, and curious, who wants to help build a more sustainable and energy independent future.

Lunar Energy was founded to transition homes to 100% clean energy—making our electricity greener, our air cleaner and our energy more safe, secure and reliable for all. We’re a fast-growing, global company building the world’s best clean energy products to electrify all homes and connect communities to form clean, resilient virtual power plants.

On a given day at Lunar, you'll likely...

  • Monitor ongoing testing
  • Take pre- and post-test photos and conduct functional inspections of DUTs, with training from test engineers
  • Run test scripts, swap equipment between runs and support minor repairs (e.g. swapping an inverter or battery blocks)
  • Support offsite testing as needed
  • Tag DUTs and maintain post-test inventory, ensuring it gets flushed out regularly
  • Keep test benches, equipment, and labels organized, take ownership of lab cleanliness and upkeep
  • Maintain inventory of common lab equipment and order/make more things as needed
  • Flag equipment issues or process improvements to the engineering team

Desired Skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits; comfortable with teardown/inspection work and spotting anomalies
  • Strong communicator, asks questions readily and is comfortable flagging issues
  • Must be able to complete HV/LV safety training; a healthy respect (and appropriate caution) around electronics is required
  • Experience building test harnesses
  • Experience operating environmental chambers and various types of test equipment
  • Comfortable operating Python scripts/using a terminal
  • Ability to read basic electrical schematics
  • Experience with home batteries, solar, or general home electrical/electrician work
