NPI Electronics Technician - Contract

As an NPI Electronics Technician, you will play a crucial role in the assembly and testing of our innovative products during their initial introduction phase. Your responsibilities will include meticulously following work instructions and test procedures; documenting the build status with accuracy and precision; and balancing exceptional product quality with speed. Operating in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, you may be required to travel, work overtime, and occasionally on weekends to meet project deadlines and facilitate a smooth transition of new products from development to production. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality as part of the NPI organization will be instrumental in ensuring the successful launch of our products to the market.

On a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely…

  • Perform board and module level electrical bring-up to validate proper functionality and adherence to design specifications
  • Conduct quality control inspections on PCB assemblies, identifying and rectifying defects, discrepancies, and rework quality
  • Execute system-level burn-in tests to evaluate product functionality and performance
  • Implement automated test processes to streamline testing and ensure accurate data collection
  • Troubleshoot and root cause analysis failed boards using schematics and diagrams
  • Conduct PCBA rework and soldering as needed to address issues that arise on the manufacturing line
  • Make and repair wire harnesses, including crimping, splicing, heat shrinking, and wire stripping
  • Utilize electrical diagnostic equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and current/voltage sensors, for troubleshooting and validation
  • Safely operate power supplies, electronic loads, and resistor load racks to test and validate modules and systems
  • Manage part inventory and ensure availability of components required for NPI processes

Desired Skills:

  • High school diploma required; degree, trade school, or military equivalent is a plus
  • Proven experience in electrical engineering technician roles, particularly in NPI and manufacturing environments
  • Strong familiarity with electrical schematics and diagrams
  • Proficiency in using a wide range of electrical diagnostic equipment and tools
  • Excellent soldering and rework skills, including surface-mount and through-hole components
  • Experience with processes like conformal coating, potting, and over-molding
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to ensuring the highest product quality and strong documentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and experience with part inventory management
  • Knowledge of safety protocols when working with high voltage systems and proficiency on electrical theory (AC/DC circuits), including ESD protections
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with platforms, such as Jira, Confluence, and Altium
  • IPC-610 and IPC-620

Our Compensation Philosophy: Our goal is to ensure that all Lunar Energy employees are fairly compensated. Please note that the hourly range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The hourly range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is $35-$75 USD
