We are looking for an IT Systems Architect to join us in our office in Columbus, Ohio or Denver, CO and lead the design and implementation of our technology infrastructure.
You will play a critical role in shaping the foundation of our geoscience platform, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency while leveraging cloud computing, AI, and high-performance data processing. Ideal Candidate (Requirements):
- 5-10 years in systems architecture and administration, designing IT networks and/or data systems while accounting for security and functionality best practices including experiences.
- Creating and owning an IT/data systems roadmap to achieve current and future capabilities determined by cross functional stakeholders.
- Leading the planning and implementing of IT projects and system improvements to support data programs and geoscience or geospatial software platforms.
- Maintaining a secure environment, including maintaining a security policy, regular security audits, and vulnerability assessments.
- Experience with datasets management and integration, preferably in geosciences, oil and gas, mining, geothermal, or other sectors that compile large databases from diverse data formats, preferably geospatial datasets.
- Familiar with Geoscience and Geospatial software platforms.
- Proficiency in Python, with additional proficiency in Java, C# preferred.
- Strong understanding of database concepts and approaches such as SQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Azure-based data engineering solutions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and develop the architecture for our geoscience platform, integrating cloud computing, AI, and big data technologies.
- Define technical strategy, system requirements, and scalable solutions for complex data processing and analytics.
- Collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
- Establish and maintain best practices for system security, performance, and reliability, including overseeing system documentation to ensure technical clarity and continuity.
