We are developing technologies that will enable the production of low cost, 24/7 available, carbon-free hydrogen. Our team is led by seasoned energy executives and world-renowned technical thought leaders. We are looking for a Senior Structural Geoscientist to join us in either of our Denver, CO or Columbus, OH offices.
Candidate Requirements:
- Master’s degree or above in Geology, Geophysics, or related field
- 15+ years of experience in subsurface exploration with a minimum of 10 years’ expertise in structural geology
- Fluent in interpreting seismic and potential fields data in a variety of extensional, compressional, and strike-slip tectonic regimes to create structural models
- Experience creating balanced cross-sections and 2D/3D palinspastic reconstructions at a regional and prospect scale in complex geologic environments
- Commercial acumen and experience working with partners and data rooms
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in a geographically distributed team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in Accretionary, Ophiolite, or Mélange type environments
- Familiar with intrusive geologic settings including igneous and salt environments
- Able to calculate static and dynamic properties of caprocks and faults to predict column heights and transmissibility
- Experience estimating structural properties from wellbore image logs
- Experience working in igneous rock provinces, including in the oil & gas, mining, or geothermal industries
- Experience developing new methods and novel applications leading to patent or intellectual property submissions
Job Responsibilities:
- Use geological and geophysical data to perform regional and prospect scale structural interpretation and identify structural trends and controls
- Assist with integrated regional hydrogen systems studies for ranking areas of interest globally
- Create balanced cross-sections to assist with basin and prospect scale timing of hydrogen systems elements
- Integration of structural features of borehole images with restored sections to identify stresses acting on picked fault planes
- Perform multi-horizon mapping of geologic objectives crossing faults and assist with robust structural frameworks for geomodelling purposes
- Stay abreast of technological advancements in structural geology and implement innovative approaches to geologic hydrogen exploration challenges
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geophysicists, geologists, geochemists, engineers, and regulatory professionals to assess the viability of prospects
- Present findings to management and stakeholders, providing recommendations for drilling and exploration activities; collaborate with partners to execute desired work-programs
