Description
Element Energy is seeking a senior leader (Director or Senior Director) with substantial industry experience to join our engineering and technology teams working for commercial web/app-based SaaS services integrated with our innovative ESS architecture and BMS. Our SaaS is managed on various Cloud infrastructure for large-scale IOT fleet of Lithium-ion batteries managed by our Adaptive BMS (ABMS). Roles will include development of Cloud-centric software as product that manages a large number of ABMS systems, new commissioning/subscription to SaaS, large-scale IOT data, deployment of cost-effective scaling of Cloud resources, traffic optimization, information & data security, etc. Responsibilities also include development of SaaS scenarios, services and features that are defined by customers in a user-friendly and cost-effective manner. This position requires day-to-day co-working with Product Managers in system and application as well as with software engineers in data engineering & ai software where frequent, on-demand new feature/function deployments occur as part of regular business operations. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is passionate and experienced in building an integrated SaaS platform of ESS applications and services for next-generation battery management. The person will be involved in the complete software development life cycle from product/system concept through to services for customers.
Credentials
· 10+ years of experience in battery ESS or renewable energy SaaS software development
· 10+ years of experience in building commercial cloud-based services for large-size IOT data and fleet
· 10+ years of experience in hands-on full-stack development of multi-tenant cloud services
· 5+ years of track records of successful operation of cloud with high RAM (reliability, availability, maintainability) scores aligned with business goals and objectives
· 5+ years of experience in collaboration with AI-driven software products as essential part of the commercial cloud services
· 5+ years of experience in managing customer feedback and user experience on cloud/web-based services
· Mature managerial experience in managing, evaluating and collaborating with consultants and contractors for Cloud/web development
· Track record of successful project and team management for software development projects, with strong communications and delivery on-time and on-budget
· MS or higher degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
· Industry certifications preferred such as professional Cloud/Data engineering or similar
Responsibilities
Software & SaaS development
· Software for SaaS scenarios, services and features associated with ABMS products
· Design of features and functions of web/app for commercial SaaS for predictive/prescriptive O&M
· Software to conduct fleetwide, real-time ESS asset monitoring and control
· Web/app software that shows ESS asset status, metrics & visualization, automated O&M feedback
(machine to human, m2h)
· Autonomous software to send feedback to and control ESS assets under management (machine to machine, m2m)
· Automated subscription & un-subscription management toward new CLB products and end of life products
· Ai-based software functionality design in association with ML Ops aspects
· Metrics and visualization for various aspects for operation, performance and other algorithms
· Big IOT data management over 10s of GB from many containers of ESS assets everyday
· Service/Feature adaptation & aggregation in a multi-tenanted web/app environment
R&D operation and resource management
· Regular internal & external evaluation of functionality, performance, cost, etc.
· Participating in regular cross-functional collaboration with software engineering teams
· Troubleshoot and rapid response to software & systems related issues, especially from the field
Preferred Skills
· High literacy in web stack programming languages, particularly in back-end PHP, java, etc. for web and app operation environments
· Competency in designing optimized architecture for commercial web/app services and software
· High literacy in cloud services, features and functions of AWS, Azure or GCP
· Competency in developing business-centric performance metrics for battery ESS
· Competency in design of user interface and interaction structure for battery ESS for utility
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
