About Biomemory 🧬
Biomemory is a worldwide pioneer in the DNA Data Storage market. We are a well-funded start-up building IT rackable equipment for Data Centers, using synthetic DNA as the storage media. While this technology is still at its infancy, these DNA Data Storage Servers target the storage of massive amounts of data (Exabytes) with a very long retention lifetime (> 100 years) within an attractive capex and opex budget. Headquartered in Paris, Biomemory aims at serving the fast-growing international “cold storage” market.
Biomemory, founded in 2021, boldly stands at the crossroads of Biotechnology and Computing, driven by a passion for sustainability.
Headquartered in Paris, Biomemory aims at serving the fast-growing international “cold-storage” market.
After securing a €17M Series A in early 2025, we are now entering a high-growth phase, aiming to more than double our team from 25 to 50 by the beginning of 2026.
Join us in rewriting the future of data storage! 🧬
About the Job
Mission
As part of the R&D team, you will contribute to the design, optimization, and execution of molecular biology protocols aimed at constructing, assembling, and analyzing DNA fragments for innovative projects.
You will play a key role in experimental design, hands-on execution, and data interpretation, in close collaboration with biotech and software teams.
Main Responsibilities
1. Experimental Design and Execution
- Design, plan, and perform **molecular biology experiments (**PCR, digestion, ligation, bacterial transformation, plasmid preparation, DNA purification and so on).
- Verify and validate constructs through NGS sequencing.
2. Quality Control and Data Analysis
- Implement robust DNA quality control methods (quantification, purity, integrity).
- Analyze and interpret experimental results, identify inconsistencies, and propose corrective actions.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability
- Report your results frequently
3. Optimization and Automation
- Optimize experimental workflows for efficiency, reproducibility, and scalability.
- Collaborate with automation and software engineers to automate or digitize laboratory workflows.
- Contribute to the standardization of procedures and author SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
4. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with other team members and beyond.
- Participate in technical discussions and contribute scientific insights for continuous improvement.
- Train or mentor technicians and interns as needed.

Good to know💡
The position is onsite, based at our office located at 5 Impasse Reille in Paris. The workspace combines modern classic offices with advanced laboratory rooms, designed to foster collaboration between computer scientists and biologists.
This setup supports our mission to tackle the challenges of DNA synthesis and writing, encouraging interdisciplinary teamwork and innovation.
Early 2026, our offices will relocate to a new headquarters in the center of Paris (Jussieu metro station). This state-of-the-art facility will offer an inspiring and accessible setting, further enhancing collaboration and connections with Paris’s academic and research communities.
The position is subject to French law on fixed-hour contracts ("forfait heures"), with a 39-hour working week, which offers flexibility and ensures clear expectations regarding time commitments.
Biomemory provides benefits beyond the French regulations, to support the well-being of its employees and enable them to best contribute to the success of the company. Upon successful first interview, we will be glad to share the details.
About the recruitment process
To respect everyone's time, we aim to keep the process efficient and reach a decision within a month. However, as we do not want to filter applications by diplomas or seniority, we have to check skills through tests and this requires a certain number of interviews.
The selection process consists of four steps, organized as follows:
- Introductory interview with our Talent Acquisition Manager (45’)
- Interview with your potential future manager, Jessica
- Case study interview with team members (90’)
- “Culture fit” interview onsite (45’) followed by a final interview with our CEO, Erfane (30’)
