As we expand rapidly, we are looking for an experienced Systems Engineering Co-op to join our growing team.

Boston Metal is seeking a Systems Engineering Co-op to participate in the development of new high-temperature electrolysis systems to produce carbon-emissions-free molten metals and alloys.

You will learn and apply the principles of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to develop system models used to define, review, and commission development platforms for Molten Oxide Electrolysis (MOE) plant systems.

Duties Include:

• Assist in writing requirements and tracing to system architecture models using Mathworks MBSE tools
• Assist system design and model analysis using MATLAB and Simulink Software
• Assist with writing and executing test plans to commission and verify of new system construction
• Assist with data analysis and interpreting modeling and prototype testing results pertaining to system and software requirements verification and validation.
• Analyze simulation and test data to improve the fidelity of the system architecture and software architecture models.

Required experience and skills:

• Senior working toward BS degree in engineering discipline
• Experience using Matlab and Simulink
• Experience using Mathworks Systems Composer a strong plus
• Hands-on experience working with mechatronic systems. Chemistry systems a strong plus
• Experience working in industrial environments while wearing protective equipment a strong plus
• Must have ‘startup attitude’ with a natural curiosity for learning, good verbal and written communication skills, be self-motivated, a quick learner, passionate, agile, and adaptable.

Additional Information:

You will be working in a small team environment where teamwork and good relationships with other team members is critical. We operate pilot plants and labs and many of our staff members are required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and you should be prepared to do so as well when necessary.
