Boston Metal is working to decarbonize steelmaking and advance efficient, sustainable metals production and we’re looking for a dynamic Communications Coordinator to support the needs of our growing organization. Help us tell our inspiring story through optimized communications across multiple channels for a variety of audiences. As part of a lean team, the Communications Coordinator will report to the Sr. Director of Communications and will have ample opportunities to build experience in a fast-paced, vibrant work environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Draft written and/or visual content for websites, briefings, announcements, newsletter articles, emails and video scripts.
  • Assist with the creation, execution and measurement of communications campaigns.
  • Create and maintain publishing calendars.
  • Publish content on social media channels and websites.
  • Source content for, create, design and distribute regular internal newsletters.
  • Assist with monitoring Boston Metal’s online and social media presence; flag issues; prepare and disseminate regular reports.
  • Update database of speaking engagements and other external promotional activities.
  • Assist with website and LinkedIn company page analytics.
  • Review and triage contacts from website forms.
  • Help build and maintain DAM system.
  • Assist with facility tours and visits.
  • Provide communications support for company-wide and other group meetings, including optimizing PowerPoint presentations and user experience.
  • Assist with event promotion and coordination.
  • Provide proofreading and editing services to internal customers.
  • Support other external and internal communications activities as needed.

Requirements and Skills

  • 3+ years in a role demonstrating the skills required for this position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (communications, marketing, English, graphic design, visual studies, other liberal arts).
  • Excellent writing and editing ability in multiple styles and formats.
  • Experience developing and executing communications campaigns.
  • Graphic design experience with proficiency in Canva preferred.
  • Experience managing websites.
  • Ability to create newsletters, promotional pieces and other original content.
  • Experience managing LinkedIn company pages.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint, Office 365 and email distribution best practices.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring platforms and experience building tailored searches.
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical language and concepts to create clear content.
  • General understanding of data privacy principles and tools.
  • Outstanding organizational, planning and time-management skills.
  • Proactive and independent work style with a strong team-oriented mindset.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of steel, metals or other heavy industries is desirable.
  • Fluency in Brazilian Portuguese is a plus.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
