See open jobs at Boston Metal.See open jobs similar to "Model-Based Systems Engineer" Prelude Ventures.Boston Metal seeks a Model-Based Systems Engineer to facilitate the application of systems engineering principles, and processes to the development of Molten Oxide Electrolysis systems to produce carbon-free metals and alloys.
You will use principles of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to create, maintain and refine the “single source of truth” system model for Molten Oxide Electrolysis (MOE) systems. In addition, you will perform system requirements engineering and modeling, use case analysis and CONOPS development, system architecture modeling, system design trade space exploration, and system model analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and organizational stakeholders to deliver systems engineering artefacts: ConOps, Stakeholder Needs, System and Subsystem Requirements, System Architecture, Trace Matrices, System Verification
- Conduct and manage FMEAs.
- Conduct Design Reviews to ensure designs meet design requirements.
- Conduct Verification activities to verify systems and subsystem meet requirements.
- Collaborate in developing and maintaining MBSE models for systems and software using MathWorks MBSE tools.
- Perform system model analysis, conduct trade space analysis, and automation of system model reports.
- Assist with data analysis and interpreting modeling and prototype testing results pertaining to system and software requirements verification and validation.
- Analyze simulation and test data to improve the fidelity of the system architecture and software architecture models.
Required experience and skills:
- B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical engineering or Physics, or other technical degree, M.S. Preferred
- 4+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer that includes full development life cycle experience.
- Requirements elicitation, documenting, tracing, and management using requirements management tools.
- Development of System and Subsystem architectures and conducting trace space studies
- Conducting Design Reviews and FMEA’s
- Writing and executing verification plans, analyzing results, and writing reports
- Working with cross-functional teams across the organization.
- “Startup attitude” – Thrive in small teams, self-motivated, quick learner, passionate, agile, and adaptable.
- Model-based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts, principles, and theories. SysML a plus
- Use-Case and Concept of Operations development
Desired experience and skills:
- Developing MBSE models using MBSE tools
- System safety analysis, and system architecture modeling.
- Defining and documenting interface requirements
- MATLAB object-oriented programming and system model report generation.
- MathWorks Model-Based Design
- Simulink Requirements and System Composer
- Configuration and Change Management
