Role Overview
Arable is seeking a Senior Product Manager who thrives in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments and excels at navigating complex challenges that span hardware, firmware, data science, and software. As part of Arable’s product team, you will take end-to-end ownership of product execution, working closely with cross-functional partners to deliver customer-centric solutions that have real impact in the field. This role suits someone who is analytical, curious, adaptable, creative, and energized by blending diverse perspectives into cohesive, high-quality products. You’ll bridge worlds: lab and field, concept and deployment, abstraction and practicality. Your work will bring clarity to complexity and turn possibilities into products that growers rely on every single day. What You’ll Do:
- Shape Integrated, Real-World Solutions:
- Transform customer needs, agronomic insight, and field realities into clear, actionable product requirements.
- Design solutions that unite hardware, firmware, data science, and software into elegant, intuitive experiences.
- Bring creativity to problem-solving: finding new angles, new paths, and new combinations that unlock value.
- Lead Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
- Work hand-in-hand with hardware engineers, firmware developers, data scientists, designers, operations leads, and commercial teams.
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions that turn complexity into alignment and alignment into execution.
- Bring structure, clarity, and momentum to teams working across multiple domains.
- Deliver Products from Idea to Field Impact:
- Guide features and products through the entire lifecycle: discovery → development → manufacturing → deployment → continuous improvement.
- Break down big, ambiguous challenges into achievable steps without losing sight of the broader vision.
- Use lean and agile practices to keep teams moving quickly, collaboratively, and creatively.
- Bring Customer Voice Into Every Decision:
- Engage directly with growers, agronomists, and enterprise customers to understand the systems, pressures, and decisions shaping their daily work.
- Build metrics, KPIs, and success measures that reflect real-world impact-from water savings and yield outcomes to risk reduction and operational simplicity.
- Turn feedback into insight, insight into prioritization, and prioritization into meaningful change.
- Champion Data-Driven Exploration:
- Drive impact by utilizing data for key business decisions, spanning from device health metrics to operational performance analytics.
- Use data to test hypotheses, challenge assumptions, and continually refine what excellence looks like.
- Balance rigor with imagination as you explore new opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- Agronomy background or 4+ years of experience in an AgTech company.
- Experience developing products that span hardware, firmware, data science, and software.
- 5+ years of product management in multidisciplinary, fast-paced environments.3+ years working in fast-growing startup environments, with demonstrated ability to thrive amid rapid change, ambiguity, and shifting priorities.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and align diverse teams.
- Demonstrated creativity, curiosity, critical thinking, and resilience.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of crafting compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- High proficiency in English, written and spoken.U.S.-based, preferably West Coast.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%; if based in the San Francisco area, ability to come into the office 2 days per week.
- Deep comfort with lean, agile, and iterative methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in commercial or customer-facing roles.
- Operational experience - leading operational teams or building related products.
- Background in precision agriculture, sensing technologies, water stewardship tools, or environmental intelligence systems.
- A creative mindset paired with the discipline to ship, iterate, and improve fast.
